Although this site is really about my illustrations... I must post this fabulous pic of my earrings. The Flocks of 7 in full glory! I am pretty sure that Kelly Turso took this photograph. She is awesome!
I cannot stop! These have been great to draw... and even more fun to watch my niece color them in. I may have them available on my etsy shop for the holidays! http://jstoneillustrations.etsy.com/
I have been having a lot of fun with my daughter and ALL the nieces in my family. We can all draw together, even with a 7 year age difference (not including my age, ha ha). These are some quick paper dolls that I put together so that my niece Xia would have something to do while the babies napped. The second page we created together. Of course she got to do ALL the coloring! Enjoy.
I was inspired to draw a bird wearing a pair of my "flocks of 7". Although fun to draw, I need to work larger. This illustration is only 3 1/2" x 3 3/4".... I could've used so much more space for loads of detail. I took a print of the original pencil drawing, mounted it on wood, then watercolored it.
"O is for Owl, with her pets one, two, three, Treating them each to a nice cup of tea." After starting in acrylic, as usual, I decided to switch to watercolor and was very happy with the result. Looking forward to doing another hand colored print soon.
This is my last dog portrait from a show I had in 2007. I just listed it on etsy... what a great site. I chose a rugged piece of wood to paint this strong breed on. It has a nice texture, making it hard for me to get the detail when I painted it, but it really adds to the piece. It is only 7" x 5 1/2", acrylic on wood. When you can't own a million dogs, you might as well paint them!
Prints of my illustrations and sometimes originals are now available on etsy (http://jstoneillustrations.etsy.com/). If you live in Philly, the Framers Workroom @ 2103 Walnut St carries originals, prints, and unique hand painted prints too! (215.567.6800)
